Just signed a contract with JMS Books for "Mitch"

Great news!

I just signed a contract for "Mitch", Misfit Shifters book 1, with JMS books! It should be coming out in March!

Here's a sneak peek at the unedited blurb:

Running into a winged lion shifter was never in Mitch's plans. But that isn't the first shocking surprise for Mitch as he steps onto the Bluebird Valley Preserve. The place has it's fair share of wildlife, including shifters, most of whom Mitch never knew existed. As a caracal shifter, Mitch isn't worried about living in a community filled with oddities and unusual types. It's his innate ability to draw energy from humidity and release it as an explosion that makes him wonder if his stay will be all too short. The three ring circus there he can handle. It's Calix, the saber-toothed cat that knocks him off balance.

Calix is a vet and a physician. Great in theory—except he can only diagnose, not heal. Still grieving from the death of a loved one, he vows to protect his heart from another crushing blow. Then, he saves a caracal shifter from the flood waters. When he sees Mitch, he struggles with leaving the past behind and making a future for himself including Mitch.

Raging waters and mudslides threaten, leaving the whole preserve at risk. Mitch puts his life on the line to rescue Calix. But, it's Calix's heart that Mitch finds the most challenging and worthy to win.

The 7-7-7 game

Blame this on Edward Kendrick. The 7/7/7 game. Page 7, 7th paragraph, and so on.

This is from my work in progress tentatively entitled: Werewolves, Weddings, and Wool Socks.

“More like northern Canada,” Ridge pitched in. His deep voice carried a hint of teasing humor.

“How northern?” Kenzie held her breath, somehow already knowing the answer.

“Resolute,” Libby answered.

The town name didn’t clear up any confusion. Kenzie’s gut tightened all the more. “That doesn’t do anything for me. Try again.”

“Pretty much as far north as you can go,” Sand finished. “Think past the Arctic Circle. Land of no dawn.”

No dawn? Arctic Circle? Images flashed through her head and none of them good. “Oh, no. No. No. No.” Kenzie shook her head. “I’m not going to the North Pole. No way, no how.”

Ridge smirked. “It’s not the North Pole, silly.” His expression and voice told how amusing he found her responses.

“Right.” Sand gave a single nod. “But, it’s close.”

“It’s not like you’re staking a tent on the top of the earth.” Libby waved her hand in the air as if that tidbit of information made all the difference in the world. “Everything is paid for already. The plane ticket. The dress. Everything. You just have to pack a bag and show up.”

Kenzie worried her lip. The North Pole sounded…intimidating. Ruthless. Miserable. Late October in the South had to be scores warmer than…well…the North Pole. She shivered at the thought.
