Josie lives a quiet life and keeps to herself. She works as an assistant librarian and decides to do something different with her day off and goes to an estate sale and purchases a box of old books. She discovers there are more than just books in this box. She tries to do the right thing with these treasures and finds herself in a whirlwind of trouble, danger, and people who will stop at nothing to get those treasures.

Ghost is an assassin with a tragic past he doesn’t want anyone to know about. His goal in life is to take down the bad guys no matter what, even if it means death for him. Ryan from the FBI, needs a favor and needs Ghost to use his incredible skills to protect Josie from the killers that are coming after her. Little does Ghost know, she will be the one to break down his walls and warm his heart and make him feel again. Can Ghost allow himself to open up for Josie during the time they are together? Is this really just a job?

This book was amazing. The story line kept me reading and reeling over what was going to happen next. Between the action going on with the killers on the loose and the feelings developing between Josie and Ghost, I couldn’t stop reading. His past is tragic and my heart was breaking for him, for his past and his present. These scenes broke my heart. Josie’s character was a fun, witty, feisty, and loving woman. She made this story much more fun. She brought the laughter in and was a breath of fresh air when the sadness was overtaking my emotions.

This was my first time reading any book to this series by Cheyenne and boy am I glad I read it! I can definitely recommend it to you. Once I realized that it was #7 in the series, I was worried I was going to be missing a lot to the story, but this definitely wasn’t the case. I will be adding 1-6 to my “to be read” list immediately. I don’t think you will be disappointed by this authors work!
